Oxygen

Examples of oxygen meters

A range of meters is available to measure oxygen in gases. For the selection a distinction has to be made between sensors on

  • ZrO2 basis
  • Electrochemical sensors (Micro-Fuel-Cells) and
  • Measuring range (Vol% or Vppm range)

ZrO2 cells
Measuring range: 0.1 Vppm.....> 25 Vol

ZrO2 cellsUsed for fast and reproducible measuring of trace oxygen in inert gases, for example He,  Ar, N2, CO2  ( Type PAT 3190 ) or when inert gases are to be measured in the presence of impurities with combustible gases such as hydrogen, carbon monoxide and methane ( Type PAT 3190 ).

I n d u s t r i a l  a p p l i c a t i o n s

  • Protective gases in the food industry
  • Purity of carbon dioxide in breweries and beverage filling  lines
  • Protective gases for heat treatment, welding and brazing etc.
  • Monitoring purity in nitrogen and argon in air separation plants
  • Chemical, pharmaceutical production
  • Protective gases in the electronics industry

Electrochemical sensors
Measuring 0,1 ....10.000 ppm, 0,1 ......25 Vol%

Electrochemical sensorsUsed for the reproducible measurement of oxygen in all gases – also in chemically aggressive and combustible gases. (Types PAT 3110 ...3185; Oxymaster 16T; EC 25)

S p e c i a l  f e a t u r e :
In the OXYMASTER 16T the sensor in the stainless steel casing is separated from the electronics and can be integrated in the process as bypass!

I n d u s t r i a l  a p p l i c a t i o n s

  • Producers of industrial gases:
    • Measurements in carbon dioxide or hydrogen
    • Specialized companies for welding
  • Chemical industry:
    • measurements in ethylene
    • hydrogen or in complex gas mixtures
    • Breweries, food industry
